The temple’s specialty is that there is no particular idol in it, but there is a pit in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, which is believed to be the same pit where the Kunja portion of Mother Sati fell. A small idol of the goddess is installed as a symbol near the same hole. A Shivling and an idol of Ganesha are also visible in the sanctum sanctorum.
This temple site and its courtyard are considered a sacred place for those who cannot go to the remote mountainous regions of the Himalayas and cannot spend much for meditation and concentration of mind.
